SURREY COUNTY ACADEMY - MATCH REPORT
TRIANGULAR v MIDDLESEX, BERKSHIRE AND COUNTY DEVELOPMENT SQUADS
SUNDAY 4TH NOVEMBER 2018
AT CRANLEIGH SCHOOL
This was the first match for some of the 2018/2019 Surrey County Academy. The Surrey County Academy’s first match was against Middlesex. The nerves were showing from both teams in the first half with the Surrey County Academy behind by two goals at half time. Things settled in the second half and the athletes worked really hard and produced a, well fought, 17 -17 draw.
The next match was against Berkshire and this was a much stronger performance across the board with the Surrey County Academy winning by 26 - 17. The last match was against the Surrey Development Squad with it going goal for goal in the first half and a half time score line of 14 -13 to the Surrey County Academy.
The second half saw the County Academy pull away and eventually win 27 – 21.
The County Academy player of the tournament as voted for by the players and the coach was Elea Barton. Well done to all the Surrey Squads.
Thank you to Patricia Balcombe for organizing the day. Thanks also to the parents for the half time oranges and for the excellent tea afterwards.
