This summer Claygate & New Malden are breaking a Guinness World Record, completing the longest ever netball match - 60 hours of continuous netball over 3 days!
The reason for this crazy challenge is to raise £35K for The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign, the charity that supports The Royal Marsden a world-leading cancer centre, and the place that cured one of the Claygate members from cancer last year.
If you or anybody in your club would be able to spare some time over the weekend of 20th to 22nd August at the Guildford Spectrum to help us with this enormous challenge then we’d love to hear from you. We need lots of netballing volunteers (umpires, witnesses, timekeepers) to make this happen.
If time is tight then perhaps you’d consider making a donation to the cause instead? You may have your AGM coming up soon and we would really appreciate it if you would mention our challenge and consider making a club donation - maybe those spare match fees lurking at the bottom of the kit bag!
We know that netballers are a generous bunch so we’ve set up an online donation page at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/WorldRecordAttempt.
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and I hope that you’ll be able to join us in August – please contact Debbie Middleton (debsmiddleton2005@yahoo.co.uk) or Kath Jeffers (Katherine.jeffers@xlgroup.com) if you think you can help in anyway.
