Coaching Workshops
Six new practical coaching workshops have been introduced by England Netball. The workshops are aimed at providing coaches and teachers with a better understanding of specific areas of player/game development, the tool kit required to analyse and correct technique, and fresh ideas for building coaching practices and sessions. These workshops have been carefully designed to complement the qualifications pathway (UKCC) and Excel framework.
All workshops are 3 hours long and cost £25.00 for affiliated and £35.00 for unaffiliated participants.
The six workshops:On the Ball: Essential Ball Skills for NetballOn the Move: Essential Movement Skills for NetballSharp Shooting: Essential Shooting Skills for NetballGetting Physical: Strength and Conditioning for NetballActivate: Essential Attacking Skills for NetballWinning the Ball: Essential Defending Skills for Netball

Fresh Ideas 3 - Coaching Workshop
This workshop is designed to give coaches and teachers lots of new practical skills, drills and progressions to take back to their schools and clunbs and refresh their netball sessions.

Youth Umpire Award - Teacher Orientation Workshop
The Youth Umpire Award is one of England Netball's leadership awards for 13 - 18 year olds and provides young leaders with their first taste of netball officiating. This award can be delivered by teachers who have attended a teacher orientation workshop (3 hours). The Youth Umpire award itself has a minimum of a 6 hours delivery time and a resource that costs £10 per candidate.

Coach Observation Opportunities
The London and SE Region are pleased to announce that they are offering all their coaches the opportunity to observe sessions within the Regional Excel (Talent) Programme. If you are a coach looking for ways of improving your coaching and wanting new ideas then feel free to pop along to one of the sessions this season (2011 - 12). This provides a fantastic opportunity to see top level coaches in action, meet other coaches and watch some of the best talent in the Region. Surrey Lions Awards
SCNA is pleased to launch the Surrey Lions Awards, to recognise and celebrate all the great work of netball volunteers in Surrey. There are 7 categories for these awards:

  *Umpire of the Year
  *Netball Teacher of the Year
  *Young Volunteer of the Year
  *Young Netballer of the Year
  *Long Service Award
  *Honorary Life Membership

Please spread the word within our great volunteer workforce to recognise the efforts of all our netballers in Surrey, who do so much for our sport with no wish for accolades. Presentations/announcements will be at our AGM June 2012 at Purley Sports Club.
