Coaches play a crucial role in the development of netball players, and this award recognises the commitment and achievements of a netball coach who has made an outstanding contribution. This award applies to coaches at all levels, and is made to a coach who works on a volunteer basis. To be eligible nominees must be attached to an organisation affiliated to SCNA and England Netball.
Umpire of the Year Award
Umpires play a crucial role in enabling netball players to enjoy their sport and without whom we could not play. This award recognises the commitment and achievements of a netball umpire who has made an outstanding contribution. This award applies to umpires at all levels and who work on a volunteer basis. To be eligible nominees must be attached to an organisation affiliated to SCNA and England Netball.
Netball Teacher of the Year Award
Teachers play a crucial role in introducing and inspiring players to the game of netball and many of them achieve this by volunteering their ‘out of school’ time. This award recognises a teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of netball in school, outside their statutory teaching responsibilities. To be eligible nominees must be attached to a school affiliated to SCNA and England Netball.
Young Volunteer of the Year Award
This award is presented to a young person who has volunteered their time and expertise for a minimum period of two years to help others enjoy netball. This may be by way of coaching, umpiring or administration. To be eligible nominees must be no older than 25 years, and must be a registered member of an organisation affiliated to SCNA & England Netball.
Young Netballer of the Year Award (nomination from coach)
This award is presented to the Surrey netballer that has shown the most commitment, improvement or potential over the course of the Academy programme. This award is nominated by the lead Academy coaches.
Long Service Award
This award is presented to volunteers who have made a notable contribution to the development of netball over a significant period of time. The SCNA Long Service Award recognises the contribution of volunteers who have used their invaluable experience to give outstanding service for over 25 years.
To be eligible, nominees must be a registered member of SCNA & EN and have supported netball development by way of coaching, umpiring or administration. Long Service is an individual award and can be awarded to more than one person in a year.
Honorary Life Membership
Honorary Life Membership is awarded for exceptional service at County level, membership is awarded to those who have made a notable and significant contribution to SCNA and the sport of netball in the County.
The Honorary Life Membership awards are conferred by the Officers of SCNA. Any member of SCNA/England Netball may put forward names for consideration. Names can be sent for the attention of the President or Chairman.
