Notes for Affiliating your Club to England Netball

Please read carefully before completing the Affiliations Form and Affiliations Renewal report for MANUAL affiliations and keep for future reference. Please note you can download below, a separate note from England Netball on how to affiliate ONLINE.

Affiliation Process and Information

  1. The affiliation year runs from 1 September to 31 August. Club Membership fees are payable on and from 1 September, and must be paid no later than 31 December of the affiliation year to be eligible to vote at the AGM.

  2. Please complete this form and return all three copies with your remittance to your County Affiliation Secretary. The bottom copy will be returned to you with your Club Membership card and individual participants’ registration cards.

  3. Please be aware that clubs may also affiliate online via the EN website (via LINKS page)

  4. Additional members and participants may be registered later in the year by sending their details and fees to the County Affiliation Secretary, who will issue additional registration cards.

  5. A unique, unchanging ID is issued to each Club and Participant. These will be pre-printed on to membership cards at renewal. When a Club or Participant first joins EN, the temporary ID issued by the County Affiliation Secretary should be used.

For example: In 2008/09 new Clubs will be issued with temporary Club ID’s prefixed with “W”, e.g W001, W002, etc. New Participants will use the temporary ID of the Club, then a sequential number, e.g W023/01; the next participant will be W023/02, and so on. At renewal, the Club and Participants will be issued with pre-printed membership cards showing their new EN ID.

New Participants at a Club that already has an EN Club ID will use the Club ID, then a sequential number, e.g 1005/01; the next new participant will be 1005/02, and so on.

  6. An individual may register with more than one club, but need pay the EN fee only once. The club that accepts this fee is deemed to be the participant’s First Claim Club, and any additional registrations are Second Claims. Please indicate on the application form in the appropriate column if the participant is Second Claim only to your Club.

  7. Second Claim participants are not entitled to a registration card – they may obtain the card from their First Claim Club.

  8. Only when the current membership fee has been paid to the County, will players be eligible to attend courses or take awards, or be considered for trials, and teams may enter tournaments. Membership cards are issued direct by England Netball with the first issue of their magazine.

  9. Please obtain parental consent before registering any player who is under 18 years of age.

  10. Changes to names, addresses, etc throughout the year can be notified to changemyaddress@englandnetball.co.uk

  11. England Netball will not pass personal details of any affiliated participants to 3rd parties without their prior consent, and will never pass on details to other organisations for marketing purposes.

Notes for completing Participants’ Details Form

Where details have been pre-printed (that is, for renewing Clubs), please check and amend any details as required – e.g Secretary name, address details of participants, etc. New participants should be added at the end of the listing. Please cross out the name of any participant who is not renewing, but do not obliterate their Netball ID so that we can easily update our records!

Type: Circle whether Club or YPG

Secretary: Should always be the first record in the listing. For subsequent sheets, please delete the word “Secretary” from the second column.

Club ID: The unique number that is issued by EN to each Club when they affiliate. If a new Club, please leave blank, and a temporary ID will then be assigned by the County Affiliation Secretary. See Note 4 above.

Netball ID: The unique number that is issued by EN to each participant when they affiliate. If the participant is joining EN for the first time, please leave blank, and a temporary ID will then be assigned by the Club Secretary. See Note 4.

Please enter the Full Name of each participant. This helps us to keep our records up-to-date and ensures that courses and qualifications are always noted against the correct person.

Full Address & Postcode: Please enter a full, valid address for each person, so that they receive their Netball Magazine. If a complete address is not supplied, the participant’s magazine will be sent to the Club Secretary. Email addresses are also especially useful to us.

Date of Birth: It would greatly assist us in managing our data, statistical reporting, etc, if a date of birth could be supplied for all participants.

u16, u18 checkboxes: Please indicate whether the participant is under 16 years of age or under, or 18 years or under, as of 1 September of the affiliation year.

2nd claim details: If the participant has only 2nd claim affiliation with your club, please tick the checkbox, and advise the name or ID of the 2nd claim club. See Note 5 above.
